Northern Colorado homebuilders Baessler Homes and Hartford Homes will merge to form Baessler Hartford Homes, a new entity expected to be finalized by the end of the fiscal year. The combined company will serve buyers across Greeley, Fort Collins, Windsor, Timnath, Loveland, Johnstown, Hudson, Ault, Fort Lupton, and surrounding areas in the region.

Hartford Homes, established in 1988, has developed over 40 communities and constructed more than 5,200 homes in northern Colorado. Baessler Homes, founded in 1968, has built over 4,500 homes, including 251 in 2025, and ranked No. 163 on the 2026 Next 100 list, demonstrating their enduring reputation in the industry.

According to a Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce filing, Baessler Hartford Homes will operate under three guiding principles: great places, great relationships, and great finance. The merger aims to improve processes, strengthen partnerships, and create desirable communities through shared values and complementary experience, building on both companies’ strengths.

Jamie Baessler, CEO of Baessler Homes, will lead the new company as CEO. Landon Hoover, current CEO of Hartford Homes, will serve as chief financial officer. Steve Bricker and Patrick McMeekin will oversee home building and land operations, respectively, in their respective roles.

The merger will result in 100% employee ownership through a new Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Both companies emphasize their long-standing presence in northern Colorado and their unwavering commitment to community development and regional growth.

“Our companies have spent decades building in the same communities, working with many of the same people and sharing a similar belief that what we build should make a meaningful difference,” Jamie Baessler said. “This is an opportunity to bring those synergies together and build something designed for the long term.”

Hartford Homes’ Hoover noted the company’s nearly four-decade history in the region, highlighting relationships, communities, and regional knowledge. Bringing that experience together with Baessler’s history and strengths creates an exciting opportunity to build on what both companies have accomplished while creating something new for the future.

“We have a tremendous amount of respect for what each company has built independently. Now we’re excited about what we can build together,” Baessler added.
