Compact EGO Vacuum Delivers Class-Leading Suction

EGO released its 3-gallon WDV0300 wet-dry vacuum in 2026, positioning it as a more compact solution for users of the 56V Power+ battery platform. The device relies on the same battery architecture that powers the brand’s outdoor equipment, offering advantages in capacity and power output compared to lower-voltage alternatives.

Runtime and Suction Performance

EGO advertises up to 90 minutes of runtime in ECO mode, or 35 minutes in Turbo mode, depending on the battery pack used. My testing used a 4.0Ah battery since a 5.0Ah pack wasn’t available. The results were surprisingly generous, with the machine running for 1 hour and 38 minutes in ECO mode. That actually exceeds EGO’s own estimates for a 5.0Ah battery by more than eight minutes. Turbo mode yielded 30 minutes of runtime with the 4.0Ah pack.

At its top speed, the WDV0300 generates 85 CFM of airflow and 60 inches of water lift thanks to its brushless motor. The manufacturer claims this makes it the most powerful cordless model in its class. When I compared these figures to competitors like Ridgid, Greenworks, and Ryobi, EGO consistently outperformed them in both airflow and water lift. The higher voltage appears to be the key differentiator here.

Cordless wet-dry vacuums solve a specific problem: the lack of outlets in workspaces or workshops where dragging a heavy cord is more trouble than it’s worth. For homeowners or contractors who already own a 56V battery ecosystem, this tool integrates seamlessly into their existing gear rather than adding another cord to manage.

Onboard Storage and Features

Unlike the larger 9-gallon iteration, the WDV0300 lacks wheels, relying instead on a compact frame and a top handle for transport. The onboard storage is a notable inclusion, holding the 7-foot hose and various accessories directly on the main unit. Included tools are a wide utility nozzle for large debris and a two-in-one crevice/brush tool that transforms via a sliding mechanism.

There is a power tool adapter included to connect equipment directly to the hose for dust collection. A wireless remote snaps onto the hose end, featuring an LED light to illuminate hidden debris in dark corners. The remote charges via USB-C, which is a useful feature compared to the coin batteries used by other brands. The unit also includes a dust bag for dry-only cleaning and a filter cleaning mechanism that uses the vacuum’s own airflow to knock dust off the filter.

The EGO WDV0300 retails for $249 as a bare tool. This price point is higher than competitors like Ridgid or Ryobi, which offer similar capacity models for under $140. However, you must supply your own 56V battery and charger. If you require more power than the 3-gallon model offers, the 9-gallon version is only about $80 more but provides triple the capacity.
