LG Electronics celebrated the grand opening of its new Air Conditioning Technologies Training Academy in Orange, CA, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Mayor Dan Slater and Steve Scarbrough, senior vice president and general manager of LG Air Conditioning Technologies, LG Electronics USA.

The new LG Academy in Orange, CA, doubles previous training space and includes advanced classrooms, workstations, and hands‑on equipment for training.

Training sessions are tailored for contractors and industry professionals, with small class sizes to ensure personalized, role‑specific instruction focused on practical skills.

LG’s Orange facility supports California’s push for electrification by training building professionals in heat pump technology and sustainable HVAC solutions, such as those involving mechanical contractors.

The new LG Orange Training Academy will equip California HVAC professionals with the knowledge and skills for next‑generation heat pump installations.

The new LG Air Conditioning Technologies Training Academy includes one classroom with integrated display screens, a fully equipped training room—with equipment covering multiple legacy and new LG HVAC and Water Heating product lines—two additional conference room spaces and multiple workstations.

Trainings will use both the classroom and equipment training room to give students multiple hands‑on learning opportunities.

“We typically limit class sizes to 12 attendees to maintain a structured, role‑specific learning environment and content is tailored to contractors and industry professionals,” Christopher Bradt, Senior Business Development Manager at LG said.

Rather than just covering product specifications, sessions will emphasize hands‑on learning, installation best practices and troubleshooting techniques that participants can immediately use in the field.

They will focus on practical skills.

The Grand Opening coincided with the inaugural California Heat Pump Week, an initiative hosted by the California Heat Pump Partnership that brought together policymakers, heat pump manufacturers, retailers, distributors, utilities, and other key market stakeholders to build awareness of heat pumps and advance their adoption across California.

California’s efforts to encourage heat pump installation through incentives, building code and other state policy is transforming the state’s space conditioning and water heating markets as it works toward a more electrified future.

LG is part of this movement through its new Training Academy in Orange, according to Bradt.
